The Victims Services Unit of the California Office of the Attorney General provides support and notification services to victims and their families regarding cases before the Office of the Attorney General. If there is a criminal appeal by an offender convicted of a crime, the victim or survivor of the victim can request to be informed of the status of that case. Also, if the Attorney General decides to prosecute a case, the Victims Services Unit will inform the victim or the survivors of the victim regarding the status of the case upon their request.
